Priorities

What’s on the top of your list? What is most important to you in life and right now? I’ve had numerous people advise me to do co-op elsewhere because then I’d get the opportunity to travel and get some work experience. As a result, I’d have a better chance of finding a job after graduation and get to see more of the world. But these are their priorities, and the priorities of this world.
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
I’m not saying that I’m going to be lazy, sit on my butt all day and complain about not finding a job. I’ll still work at it, I’ll keep bettering my resume, write countless CVs and go to many interviews. But I’m not going to keep worrying about finding a job after graduation or having one ready to go the day I graduate. It’s still a priority for me, but it’s not my top priority. There’s so many things in life that are more important to me: My family, my friends, serving our God and glorifying Him. I don’t feel the need to chase after the riches and successes of this world because I know that there will be something infinitely more valuable than a 6-figure salary or a mansion in West Van. I’d much rather store up riches in heaven than here on earth where it will be temporary. I don’t know what it is exactly, but I know God has a plan for me.
God has a plan that is infinitely better than mine will ever be. If I don’t get this job, it’s because God has something else that He wants for me. A good friend of mine said, “Just wait, one day you’re going to look back and say to yourself ‘Wow..God You are so amazing. How could I ever have doubted you?’ “
Praise God.
